Nandina or Heavenly Bamboo, Nandina domestica, is an evergreen shrub, with standard varieties growing to 5 or 6 feet high and dwarf varieties only growing 1 to 2 feet high.
Nandina is most well-known for it's dramatic foliage color. Lower leaves are green and
new growth is bright red.
Most varieties have small white flowers followed by bright red berries, which are attractive to birds.
Best in full to partial sun, with best leaf color in full sun.
Moderate water requirements.
Plant Nandina in clusters with low growing junipers or Indian Hawthorn.
