Lilac, Syringa, is a large deciduous shrub with wonderfully fragrant flowers in the spring. Prune after flowering.
Fast grower to 12 feet high by 6 feet wide.
Partial to full sun and moderate watering.
Lilac is a beautiful plant in the spring, but many of them don't fair too well in the heat of the summer. Leaves tend to scorch. Try planting on the North side and away from any radient heat source.
Nice plant for patios and courtyards.
