Camellia plants don't really do well in the desert Southwest, it is too hot here and their leaves easily burn, plus they require a more acidic soil than what we have.
If you love Camellia's and still want to try your luck with them, we suggest planting in containers and keeping them in a protected cool patio.
For best preformance, fertilize regularly with a foliar feed like Miracid. Remember to water the plant at least an hour or more prior to feeding, applying fertilizer to a plant in need of water will just burn it up.
