Bottle Brush, Callistemon laevis, is actually considered a small tree, but this variety only grows 6 to 8 feet high and does very well in the desert Southwest.
Full sun to partial shade and moderate water requirements.
The plant is an evergreen with beautiful, interesting brush-like, red blooms in mid-spring.
Attractive to bees, butterflies and birds.
Slightly acidic soil is best, so regular foliar applications of an acidic fertilizer, like Miracid, will produce a healthier Bottle Brush plant.
