Butterfly Bush

Butterfly Bush

Butterfly bush, Buddleja, is a deciduous shrub that does very well in the desert Southwest.

The plant can get 6 to 8 feet high and 3 to 5 feet wide.

Blooms June - September. Birds, bees and especially butterflies are attracted to the fragrant, showy flowers. Flower color varies between varieties from whites and pinks to deep purples.

Full sun and moderate water requirements.

The Butterfly Bush can get quite large and take over a small yard if not pruned back each year.
